What a wonderful late afternoon and early evening we had. Weather was almost too perfect for Goldendale, sunshine is usual but no wind is a real blessing. The perfect accompaniment was Doug Seigel on his guitar, nicely done and thanks Doug. As for the social aspect of the evening we whiled away the time chatting here and there with all our friends and some participated in the theme which was “are you smarter than a fifth grader?” It was a game that had folks visiting various stores to see if they could answer the question at each one. There were some prizes to be won and response was good. The Gallery had quite a few visitors and sales were also quite brisk.

Everyone visited friends and neighbors.

Doug Seigel added music and song for our 2nd Thursday event
Back at the wine tasting Leroy, our wine master, set up the four Barbera wines wrapped up so we couldn’t see the labels and the tasting began. With our grade sheets in one hand and our wine glass in the other we sniffed, peered, tilted, looked at the clarity and color and tasted, giving each sample a grade for each aspect of the tasting. It was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed it very much. Leroy has more details on the gallery opening page. The best part is he has promised to do more blind wine tasting in the future.
We will be joining in the activities during the Festival of Wheels Saturday September 20th. The Gallery will feature wine tasting along with the special glass works display by the Oregon Glass Guild. The features will include a Main street display of beautiful antique cars , live music from the forties and fifties, and vendors of hand crafted items. All the action will be in the Senior Center parking lot located next to the gallery on Main Street. Everyone is invited to come join in the fun.
