the 2nd Thursday event came off nicely though our resident wine person was not at hand. After some confusion Annette Ruckert and I – Joan Crice – got every thing put together. Many thanks to pro pourer, Kelly. who helped me by pouring the wine in the latter part of the evening. My pink striped hair caused some comment if not confusion too.
There was a very nice selection of wines from the Marchese vineyards including Dolceto, Primetivo and the most favored white, pinot grigio. Most everyone tried some samples and all selections were enjoyed. My first time behind the bar and I am satisfied it went well. I even remembered to bring the ice to chill the white wines. The food selection donated by members was outstanding, guitar styling by Star Meichtry was very enjoyable and added to the ambiance. Arlene Larison conducted the artist trading cards creativity moment which emphasized the show theme, Views of Mt. Adams. The show featured works all done by our own artists and photographers plus one loaned piece. Our next show in October will feature member Charlotte Van Zant King
